Two internet connections are the new standard for businesses.

Businesses are certainly rethinking normal right now, and we have a way to simplify the changes.

We recommend that businesses consider purchasing two internet connections from two different providers.

Yes, you heard us right. For example, one internet connection from Comcast, and another from CenturyLink, depending on which providers are in your area.

As the Wi-Fi waves become the new window shopping and staff meeting room, businesses will be wise to protect themselves from connection failure, outages, and other internet issues by using two providers. As businesses do more and more online and in the cloud, their dependency on having a functional, bullet proof internet connection increases exponentially.

In today’s environment, more businesses are shifting their thinking from paying for obvious Brick and Mortar items, to paying for more Online and Virtual assets that will better serve the customers and staff.

How can I utilize two internet connections?

  1. As an insurance policy:  If one internet connection goes down, a back will protect against an outage
  2. Use one for more critical applications like phones/voice/video conferencing; use the second connection for streaming services, or guest WiFi.
  3. Combine both circuits: Take both bandwidths and mesh them together so that the total bandwidth equates to the sum of both. Example CenturyLink 100m and Comcast 50m = 150m connection.

Small business owners’ optimism touched a 35-year high last month, with businesses setting records in terms of job creation and hiring, while also being able to increase prices.

In July, the NFIB’s Small Business Optimism Index marked its second highest level in the survey’s 45-year history, at 107.9 – just shy of the July 1983 record-high of 108.

  • 23 percent of businesses are planning to create new jobs, while 37 percent of business owners said they had job openings that they could not fill in July.
  • 35 percent of owners expect better business conditions, while they said the availability of qualified workers was their No. 1 problem.
  • 59 percent of firms were hiring or trying to hire, while 52 percent (88 percent of those hiring or trying to hire) reported few or no qualified applicants for the positions they were trying to fill.
  • Twenty-three percent of owners said their biggest business problem was finding qualified workers.
