Microsoft Teams Voice Integrations

Microsoft Teams may be one of the most important additions to your business this year. Whether you're new to the software or have been enjoying its perks for awhile, Teams is releasing several new features:
  • Dual Screen Support
  • Improved File Sharing
  • Together Mode
The goal of these new releases is to make Teams function more like a real-life meeting.

While Teams is great, voice integration options are missing; features that a receptionist or switchboard might offer like handling calls and automated after hours messages.

We recommend using a voice platform that can integrate with Teams to access enhanced features like:
  • Inbound calls can be directed as needed
  • Core features like an auto attendant for before or after hours
  • Ring multiple phones from one number
  • Call center capabilities
  • Use multiple voice providers allowing them to switch if one provider goes down

Our experts can help determine which voice platform will work best for your organization.
As your company gets comfortable with a remote environment, consider using our recommended enhanced features to further maximize on all that Microsoft Teams has to offer.

Remember how technology was supposed to make our lives easier? Jet packs, flying cars and a sweet little robot to bring us our coffee--ahh, memories of a future that hasn't happened, yet!

Anyone working from home right now is realizing the power of technology, and its severe limitations.

We've compiled some tips to ease your day-to-day relationship with your cell phone, specifically the phone being used for business purposes.
  • Simplify your Purpose:
List the top purpose for your phone, and include a list of things your phone is NOT intended for (distractions on social media, checking the stock market, Identifying your cellphone's purpose will allow you to load it with necessary apps, and give yourself and others the right expectations.
  • Simplify your Boundaries:
If you have a phone for personal use, and a separate phone for business, it can be fairly easy to establish boundaries. But if you have one phone for all your communications, it may be next to impossible to set boundaries with your Mom (who calls repeatedly during meetings), or your Favorite Client (who texts big, urgent ideas on the weekends).
  • Take advantage of Unique Tools:
Take advantage of the unique tools your phone offers that your computer and other devices don't do as well. Voice technology and quick photos are easiest from your cellphone.

Boundaries and Benefits of Remote Working

Few businesses expected to turn to digital and virtual solutions with the same veracity of the Coronavirus. As the internet reaches peak usage with employees working from home, and kids attempting to Zoom with their teachers, we want to review Remote Working--Simplified.

Simplify your Remote Working experience with these benefits and boundaries:

Shortest commute ever.
This may be the greatest benefit! Shuffling from the bed to the kitchen table or home office without waiting for any red lights is a glorious thing. Over time, that laptop might start staring at you, tempting you to work from sunrise to sunset. We recommend listening to that podcast that used to get you through the endless miles. Instead of from behind the steering wheel, listen in while making breakfast and cleaning up around your home office. If you used to have a 30-minute commute, try to do something productive (laundry) or meaningful (tell jokes with the kids) for a half hour before settling in for the work day. Pajamas versus business attire? That's up to you! Just be sure to have a suit jacket near your desk for important Conference Calls!

Better communication and scheduling.
While it may have been nice to chat with co-workers during breaks, working from home allows for a different kind of communication. Simplified Communications works with businesses to find, implement and troubleshoot the best possible remote working scenarios for their business or team. Whether your team needs 1-on-1 communication with customers, or group communication among staff, we are experienced in transferring the work setting to the digital realm. Too much tech talk may burn out some employees and entrepreneurs. Be sure to take breaks, and build in a rest from electronics for your teams. You may also consider setting your hours differently--instead of being available from 8am-5pm, clarify that you'll be available by Direct Message on a specific platform from 8am-10am, and 3pm-5pm. This will minimize the number of applications you and your co-workers need to access, and it will help your colleagues better organize their time.
