Frontier Communications Bankruptcy on the Horizon

​With a $17.5 billion debt load, the national internet, T.V. and phone company, Frontier Communications, is considering filing for bankruptcy in March. Company executives are negotiating with creditors and advisers for a restructuring deal ahead of the March 15 due date on $356 million in debt payments. It’s expected that the restructuring deal will involve a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which means no interruption of telephone and broadband service to customers.

News of Frontier’s financial troubles comes as more and more customers “cut the cord” and move away from land lines.
